NEW YORK-Kmart's romance with Martha Stewart may just be getting under way as the Martha Stewart Everyday program tops $1 billion in sales this year and will soon be splayed across the Troy, Mich.-based discounters Web Site, BlueLight.com.
An independent venture between Kmart and Softbank, BlueLight.com will prominently feature the Martha Stewart Everyday brand and begin selling online by late summer, said Cecil Kearse, vice president of home at Kmart, while speaking here at the Fashion Institute of Technology's 11th Annual Herbert Blueweiss Key Issues Seminar.
Kearse noted that Kmart sees Martha Stewart Everyday positioned as a home and lifestyle brand. BlueLight.com will not just offer products, he said, but also how-tos and lifestyle information....
