ANDOVER, Maine-Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. will double its manufacturing plant here.

A 53,000-square-foot expansion, costing about $5.6 million, will update machine technology and equipment.

Andover Wood Products Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ethan Allen Inc., is a wood dimension plant that produces panels that are shipped to other Ethan Allen manufacturing plants throughout the Northeast for assembly. In recent years, Ethan Allen has spent more than $2 million upgrading the state-of-the-art saw mill and adding four new high-tech computerized dry kilns. The upcoming expansion will allow Andover to move toward becoming a fully integrated case goods manufacturing facility.
