ATLANTA-Less then two months into his tenure, Robert Nardelli, president and chief executive officer of The Home Depot, has flexed his muscles with some internal restructuring.
"We are taking positive steps to ensure that we are as close as possible to our customers and respond to their needs," said Nardelli, who was known for cutting operational costs in his former position as chief executive officer of General Electric Co. "In addition, we are leveraging the knowledge and experience of our leaders in key programs under development to attract new customers and sales longer term."
Changes include the elimination of the Home Depot group presidency, and the realignment of the U.S. divisions, the Expo Design Centers and other key business units. ...
