MACY'S EAST BUILDS UP GADGET DEPARTMENT.

NEW YORK-Macy's East has teamed with three core vendor partners to give its gadget section more presence.
The retailer has opened up a prominent gadget section in its Herald Square store here, working with gadget makers Oxo, Amco and Pedrini to set up a shop format display, according to Evan Dash, divisional merchandise manager and vice president for housewares at Macy's East.
"The new Herald Square gadget shop is considerably larger and more prominent than a typical gadget presentation," said Dash.
"Our goal was to bring gadgets front and forward into a high-traffic area, and at the same time create excitement by featuring new and exciting items that complement our cookware department," he continued.
