APPLICA EXTENDS LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH B&D.

MIAMI LAKES, Fla.-Applica Inc. has extended its trademark license agreement with The Black & Decker Corp. through December 2006. Under the extension, Applica will pay Black & Decker certain fees and guaranteed minimum royalty payments. The license agreement was scheduled to be renewed in June 2003 and included specified minimum royalty payments.

Upon request, Black & Decker may elect to expand the license to use its brand on certain additional products as it did in the second quarter of 2000, when it agreed to an extension into seven new product categories.
