Although the deal is not quite complete, speculation abounds as to what Conde Nast's pending acquisition of Modern Bride will mean to the bridal book industry at large.
The publishing powerhouse will pay Primedia $52 million for Modern Bride, the number-two title in the bridal book category. In 2001, Modern Bride's revenues from ad sales topped $107 million, slightly behind Conde Nast's Bride's magazine, which rang up $127 million in ad sales for the same period.
