SAKS INC. NABS RUFF HEWN LICENSE; DEAL INCLUDES HOME PRODUCTS.(Brief Article)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Saks Inc., making good on its promise to expand its mix of proprietary, differentiated goods, has inked an agreement with Kikomo Ltd., a holding company of several brands, to license the Ruff Hewn trademark for exclusive use on a wide range of product categories, including home.
Home could ultimately account for about 10 to 15 percent of the Ruff Hewn brand at the Saks Department Store Group, including bed and bath, home decor and perhaps furniture accent pieces, Peggy Eskenasi, executive vice president of private label and brand development, told HFN.
The sportswear brand, known for its rugged, outdoorsy looks, will be managed by the private brand organization of the Saks Department Store Group.
