PANASONIC INKS LICENSING PACT WITH P&G FOR HAIR APPLIANCES.(Procter and Gamble)(Brief Article)

SECAUCUS, N.J.-In a first for both companies, Panasonic has entered a licensing agreement with Procter & Gamble to manufacture and sell a new line of hair dryers in North America under P&G's Pantene Pro-V trademark. This is not only the first time Panasonic has co-branded one of its personal-care products, but the first time P&G has licensed the Pantene name in this manner as well.
"They actually approached our factories looking for technology in hair dryers," said Jennifer Manno, national product manager for personal-care products at Panasonic. "We wanted to branch into the women's market, and Procter & Gamble and Pantene are such strong names, we thought it would be a great way to break in and gain acceptance."
