HOMEGOODS EXPANSION A BOON FOR TABLETOP MANUFACTURERS.(Homegoods plans to expand tabletop merchandise department)

HomeGoods is probably the best-kept non-secret secret in the tabletop industry.

With an expansive, well-presented tabletop department that offers both overstocks and discontinued items as well as in-line merchandise, the retailer provides the perfect outlet for vendors that find themselves in a jam with unsold goods or unwanted department store exclusives.

So although many manufacturers are skittish about upsetting their established channels of distribution, namely their department store customers, the prospect of a major HomeGoods expansion, as its parent TJX Cos. announced earlier this year, is too good for most tabletop vendors to pass up.
