NEW YORK-ABC Carpet & Home will hold a massive liquidation sale for its antique and decorative rug vendors March 6 to 23 with discounts up to 80 percent off.

The more than 10 rug vendors represented, including Loom & Weave, Rug Warehouse, Hakim Oriental, Habib Gallery, Soharab Oriental, Iraj Oriental, Ahdoot Oriental and Tavous Oriental, are going out of business, according to Graham Head, president of ABC Carpet & Home. He said the event, the largest in size ever done by the store, was a sign of the times.

"The old way of twiddling worry beads and not telling a customer where the rug is from is over," Head said, adding that female customers are intimidated by this masculine environment for selling rugs.
