STOCKHOLM, Sweden-AB Electrolux's North American major appliances continued "strong growth" as floor care remained "substantially" down in the third quarter ending Sept 30. Electrolux Home Products North America (previously Frigidaire) recorded increased sales as operating income "increased substantially and margin improved as a result of higher volumes, lower costs for materials and better manufacturing efficiency," explained a company statement.
AB Electrolux also revealed that the Greenville, Mich., refrigeration plant is being evaluated for possible closure because of "weak financial performance."
