MEREDITH GIVES KAPLAN A FIRST-CLASS SEND-OFF.

Meredith Corp. held a retirement party in Manhattan for Jerry Kaplan, right, president of Meredith Magazine Group (with Steve Lacy, president of Meredith's publishing group). In his 29-year career at Meredith, Kaplan served in a variety of capacities, including ad director/associate publisher of Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications; publisher of Better Homes and Gardens, and Country Home; and publishing group vice president.
Kaplan will remain at Meredith until the end of the year. Jack Griffin has been named to succeed him.
