PANASONIC, SONY LEAD IN ADS FOR DVD PLAYERS.(Brief Article)

NEW YORK-Panasonic and Sony, two of the most recognizable names in consumer electronics designed for entertainment, took the lead in November advertisements for DVD players.
Placed by retailers in more than 100 daily and weekend newspapers and inserts, the ads reach consumers across the United States. They are monitored by Beyen Corp.
Among DVD players, Sony boasted 2,090 ads out of a total of 8,935 monitored brand ads in November.
An additional 4,800 ads were published for "other" or unnamed DVD players, a reflection of the growing appeal of these items.
Panasonic's 2,090 ads for DVD players captured 23 percent of the monitored ads. Sony, with 2,040 ads, came in second. Sony's player was also the highest average price charged in...
