NEW YORK-Office Depot's decidedly upscale, coordinated approach to its lighting and office accessories has paid off, its merchants said.
It's distinguishing the retailer from Staples and OfficeMax, while giving consumers solutions to setting up, decorating and upgrading their small offices/home offices, the fastest-growing segment in this business, the company said.
Office Depot has quietly rolled out stylish lamps, clocks, silk florals, frames, decorative storage and desk accessories under its Christopher Lowell office collection to all stores since November, even as the designer's four furniture groups have only been offered in 250 stores.
A national rollout to all 870-plus stores is due by the end of the first quarter, merchants said....
