HERE COMES COWIE; THE BRIDAL GURU ENERGIZES TABLETOP FOR A COLLECTION SET TO DEBUT IN AUGUST.(tableware)

NEW YORK-J.C. Penney is betting big on wedding planning guru Colin Cowie to spice up the tabletop portion of the J.C. Penney Home Collection. The line could account for as much as 40 percent of the retailer's tabletop mix in 2005.
That's what Tony Graziosi, divisional vice president of hard home, said at Cowie's ultra-modern apartment here, during a party to kick off the line.
The Colin Cowie for J.C. Penney Home Collection, which includes dinnerware, flatware, glassware, table linens, bridal gifts and home accessories, "will be the primary thrust of the tabletop department," Graziosi said. It will start to reach stores in August.
The line dovetails with the relaunch of a new bridal registry in September that reflects Cowie's touch....
