NEW YORK-Retailers and suppliers in the past six to 12 months have been freshening up their window treatment offerings with non-traditional styles, such as bamboo beads or strings, to cater to trendy tweens and teens.

Bed Bath & Beyond, in its store here on 61st Street, displayed its exclusive Bamboo Beaded Curtain alongside its soft and hard window products. J.C. Penney, on its Web site and from its J.C. Penney Home Collection, was selling acrylic beaded string panels in a variety of colors made more fashionable with velvet rod pockets.
