NAUTICA CEO CHU LEAVES; SEEGAL NAMED AS SUCCESSOR.(Brief Article)

NEW YORK-David Chu, founder, president and chief executive officer of Nautica, is leaving the company, which is now owned by VF Corp. He is succeeded by Denise Seegal, previously CEO and president of JLo by Jennifer Lopez licensee Sweetface Fashion Co. Seegal will report to Eric Wiseman, vice president and chairman of VF's outdoor and sportswear coalitions.

When VF acquired Nautica in August 2003, Chu continued his role at Nautica, with a contract set to expire at the end of next year.

Chu was instrumental in successfully taking the Nautica apparel label to home, starting in 1997. Nautica currently has several home products, including bedding and bath, window treatment, fabric, tabletop and furniture.
