DALLAS-Housewares catalogs are familiar territory for Pikes Peak Direct Marketing, which purchased Chef's Catalog from Neiman Marcus last week.

John Medved, named Chef's Catalog president and chief executive officer, said the same group of investors bought the Walter Drake housewares catalog from a Colorado bankruptcy court in 2002, then sold that catalog for a healthy profit less than two years later. Medved most recently served as the CEO to Walter Drake.
