Bridal Program: Pier 1 Imports may not be the first place that comes to mind for bridal registries, but the specialty retailer is reaping the benefits from those couples that opt to list their wishes with its stores.

"We know we're not top of mind for bridal registries, but we do about 1.5 percent of our sales from the registry," said Cary Turner, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Pier 1 expects its bridal registry business to increase 1 percent this year.

Available both in stores and on the company's Web site, Pier 1's registry allows users to register for any of its breadth of home furnishings, including items ranging from a $650 sofa to a votive priced at 79 cents.
