CHICAGO-The Good Design 2004 Awards from the Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design included nearly three dozen housewares products. Electronics, tabletop, lighting, furniture and textiles also were well represented among the prestigious annual citations.
The international program was created in 1950 by Edgar J. Kaufmann Jr. with the participation of leading designers, including Eero Saarinen.
Cuisinart was cited for a cast-metal four-slice toaster, 6.5-quart slow cooker, Smart Power Premier stainless blender, Grind & Brew automatic coffeemaker and Grind Central coffee grinder.
