NEW YORK- Spiegelau Crystal has named Gerhard Vollath managing director for the brand worldwide. He succeeds Johan Nagel, who has left the company.

In his new position, Vollath hopes to "transfer our success in the hotel and restaurant industry to the retail market" in the United States, he said. He reports to Richard Voit, managing director of F.X. Nachtmann, the parent company of Spiegelau, and will be based in Germany.

Prior to joining Spiegelau, Vollath was the director of the hotel and restaurant division of Rosenthal. He also held the managing director position at another German crystal manufacturer.
