CHICAGO-IKEA was honored as the first gia World Honoree at a gala event held at the Chicago Cultural Center during the International Home & Housewares Show.
The Housewares Show and International Housewares Association, the primary sponsors of the Global Innovator Award program, also announced the five 2005-2006 gia Global Honorees, pared down from 23 national winners. The five honorees, selected by a jury of three visual merchandising experts and seven editors and publishers of co-sponsoring housewares trade publications from around the world, are Nest from New Zealand, Palacio de Hierro from Mexico, Lane Crawford of Hong Kong, Lenffer from Germany, and Gourdo's of the Philippines.
