ATLANTA-AmericasMart and the Oriental Rug Importers Association have joined forces to host a silent auction to support ORIA's Charitable Fund Benefiting Children. The auction will take place during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market next month.
Twenty to 30 hand-knotted rugs are scheduled to be donated exclusively by ORIA members with opening bids listed significantly at lower than wholesale value, according to AmericasMart. Bidding will run from 9 a.m. Sunday, July 16, to 5 p.m. Monday, July 17, and is open to all market attendees. The large-size area rugs will be on display in the Museum of Introductions Gallery located on the fourth floor. Auction participants can also enter to win a hand-knotted area rug and an Apple iPod.
