NEW YORK-The newest wave of high-profile licensed tabletop is about to hit the market, feeding an industry appetite (on the vendor side at least) for dishes and glasses designed by, or given the nod by, a famous fashion designer, celebrity chef or interior designer.
There's the Gordon Ramsey line from Royal Doulton, which launched first in Europe this past February. There's the Robert Mondavi and Marc Jacobs collections from Waterford, Kim Parker dinnerware from Spode, Sandra Magsamen and Anna Griffin dinnerware and giftware by Lenox, and a Preston Bailey collection by Cardew. A Charlotte Moss collection by Pickard has been put on hold for spring-when there will undoubtedly be more newcomers.
