After working for corporations large and small for more than 20 years, Dana Devereux wanted something new that allowed him to control his retirement investment.
"I started thinking about how do I generate an income stream and keep myself active, engaged, and challenged, and do so without being dependent on other people," Devereux says. He decided to look into franchising.
As he researched the market with a professional's help, Devereux learned the essential points of the franchise world: do your homework, be wary of fads, be comfortable with the franchise you buy into, and don't fight the system.
