Predatory luxury: Chrysler 300C.(Driven)(DaimlerChrysler AG)(automobile)

Deciding it was time to check out a car from an American manufacturer, I recently lined up a Chrysler 300C. But I did so with limited enthusiasm: Could it really measure up against the likes of Mercedes or BMW? Nevertheless, when the bold, midnight-blue sedan with a compressed roofline glided to the curb in front of my downtown office, I thought, "Hmm, that's good looking."

DaimlerChrysler has designed a car to turn heads: Even in a parking space, the 300C looks like it's on the prowl. The sculpted front end has a touch of the bodybuilder, with a bit of shoulder flex around the oversized wheel wells (framing 18-inch wheels with chrome-clad spokes). When its impressive grill stares at you, you can imagine the feeling of hapless prey in the sights of a dominant...
