ACP sends the wrong smoke signals

Internal Medicine News, May 15, 2008 by David S. Haden

Apparently, the left-wing radicals have gone from doing sit-ins at the college president's office to occupying the American College of Physicians ("Medical Marijuana Gets ACP's Okay," March 15, 2008, p. 1)!

First, they announce they're in favor of "single-payer" (aka socialized) health care. Now, the ACP is in favor of the sham ofso-called medical (read freely available) marijuana. Give us a break!

If some group wants to put out a ridiculous "position paper," that's their right. But to put it out under the endorsement of the American College of Physicians implies that this is a consensus of at least the vast majority of medical doctors. Certainly no one asked me before they put this position paper out, implying that I and my colleagues support this farce.

What are they smoking at the ACP? I suggest we all light one up--set fire to your annual dues payment, which these jokers are misusing!
