SAN ANTONIO -- Paravertebral block for the surgical treatment of breast cancer offers significant quality of life advantages over the long-standard practice of using general anesthesia, according to a prospective randomized trial.
Paravertebral block offers a less invasive operative approach to breast cancer, one that places increased emphasis on quality of life, Christina Weltz, M.D., said at a breast cancer symposium sponsored by the Cancer Therapy and Research Center.
