Legislative Network for Nurses, June, 2006
Yvette Thomas was elected as the 2006-2007 president of the National Student Nurses' Association during its recent meeting in Baltimore. Thomas studied at the Helene Fuld School of Nursing in Blackwood, N.J., before continuing her education at Seton Hall. She said that taking on leadership roles has allowed her to take an active role in her nursing education from the beginning.
"I wanted to be involved," she said. "It's hard to talk about all the things that need improving in an organization if you are sitting in the back seat. I wanted to be able to bring forth my life experiences and share the knowledge I have." Contact: www.nsna.org/press/press.asp.
