The move to manufacture products in low-cost countries (LCC) is likely to result in around 30 million new manufacturing jobs in India, netting an increase in its exports from $40 billion to $300 billion by 2015. A new study--conducted jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and McKinsey Co.--also reports that India will take advantage of this opportunity in skill-intensive industries where it has significant competitive advantage, such as auto components and pharmaceuticals.
