New IBM WebSphere releases extend edge of computing.

IBM announces new WebSphere products for enabling sensor-based devices--such as RFID readers and controllers, kiosks, and self checkout--to be integrated with enterprise business processes: * IBM WebSphere RFID Premises Server is the first offering from IBM's new Sensor and Actuator Solutions business unit, aimed at integrating the physical world of RFID tags and networked RFID readers with users' IT systems.
* IBM WebSphere RFID Device Infrastructure is offered for RFID device manufacturers that need an embedded, standards-based software platform to integrate RFID data collection & reporting at the edge of the network. * IBM WebSphere Remote Server enables businesses to "snap-in" new applications and devices more quickly.
