QAD seeks gain from Oracle's technology focus.(Connecting With Lean)

Pam Lopker, president of enterprise vendor QAD, says her company, in the wake of Oracle's acquisition of PeopleSoft, is opening an office in Denver to take advantage of the talent pool to be found around and about what was the headquarters of former J.D. Edwards (JDE), which was acquired by PeopleSoft.

"J.D. Edwards had a lot of people who knew manufacturing software. We have uses for that domain expertise, and culturally, QAD is a much better fit for them than Oracle." In addition, QAD is opening a services division that will guide JDE users to QAD adoption.
