Microsoft formalizes Axapta ISV development program.(MIDMARKET ERP)

Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS), the unit focused on enterprise solutions, used Convergence, its annual user conference, to publicly assure users of the viability of a vertical industry strategy that relies heavily on the development efforts of independent software vendors (ISVs). Besides wanting greater assurance that ISV-provided functionality will be stable and in sync with future MBS releases, customers also have asked who has ultimate responsibility for support, and what happens if the ISV folds? "We've listened to our customers, who've asked us, 'When are you going to see the world the way we do'?" says Mark Jensen, general manager of Axapta, one of MBS' four application platforms, in announcing the Industry Builder initiative.
