Honeywell now offers The Certified Functional Safety Expert IEC 61508, a training program for process industry operators who use safety-instrumented systems (SIS). The program enables cost-cutting and compliance with government safety regulations, including OSHA CFR1910.119, and Europe's Seveso II Directive [96/082/EEC].
Operators use the program to become more familiar with SISs, safety life-cycle management, safety verification, validation, audits, and assessments. They also can learn how to avoid over-engineering safety instruments.
