Pressure to build supply chains that can respond to customer demand is driving higher investments in IT consulting services. Microsoft and its systems integrator (SI) partners see manufacturers using services to help install collaborative frameworks that include portal and integration software.
Lyle Ginsburg, a partner in the Products Operating Group at consulting firm Accenture, says Microsoft is especially strong at simplifying IT infrastructure components that make up collaborative frameworks, and then working with partners to develop pre-built solutions that combine the partners' specific domain expertise with a Microsoft foundation.
