Active learning, rather than passive, is the method preferred by effective trainers. It takes people who think they are there just to watch and it gets them to participate.
Whenever possible, active learning--or, learning by doing--should also be the approach you use to train salespeople at your dealership. You should go far beyond just giving them information. You should help them learn. Additionally, to be an effective trainer, you should also have several other key qualities:
- Desire
- Enthusiasm
- Patience
- Communication skills
- Organization
