EDITOR'S NOTE: During October, Power Products Marketing of Minneapolis conducted a season-ending survey on behalf of Power-sports Business on the U.S. PWC market. The survey included 150 PWC dealers augmented with in-depth discussions with certain OEMs. The sample dealer body sold well over 10,000 new PWC this last year, which represents about 12% of the market.
After a decade of dismal sales, the U.S. PWC market finally rebounded with a strong year during the 2005 season. According to industry sources, 2005 season-ending U.S. PWC sales were believed to be 10% ahead of 2004 sales, including estimates for Honda. This is at about the level where sales were running earlier this year through May when we last took a reading of this market.
