Powersports Business, November, 2006

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has filed a federal lawsuit against Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. in U.S. District Court, accusing BRP of patent infringements on personal watercraft.

KHI states in the lawsuit that BRP Sea-Doo use "the technology claimed" in five of Kawasaki patents, including the oil feeding, the hull shape and hatch cover patents.

KHI is asking for a jury trial and is seeking financial damages and the impounding and destruction of all BRP's products that allegedly use the technology in the patents.

Each company has stated it does not comment on pending litigation.

The federal lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of Texas.
