New members welcomed to editorial advisory board

SKIN & ALLERGY NEWS is pleased to introduce Dr. Eliot Battle Jr. and Dr. Mice B. Gottlieb, who have joined our editorial advisory board.

Dr. Battle is founding partner of Cultura Cosmetic Medical Spa, a ground-breaking medical practice merging dermatology, laser surgery, plastic surgery, and spa therapy.

He is also an assistant clinical professor in the department of dermatology at Howard University, Washington.

Dr. Battle is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and was the past chairman of dermatology for the National Medical Association, to name a few.

His laser research at Harvard Medical School, Boston, under the direction of Dr. Rox Anderson, helped pave the way for the new generation of safe, noninvasive cosmetic lasers and the use of these lasers to treat patients with skin of color, regardless of ethnicity.

Dr. Gottlieb is the chair of dermatology at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, and is the hospital's dermatologist-in-chief. She is also the Harvey B. Ansell Professor of Dermatology at Tufts University.

She is board certified in dermatology, rheumatology, and internal medicine, and is a member of the American Dermatological Association and Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, among others.

Dr. Gottlieb was one of the first researchers to find that psoriasis is a T-cell--mediated disease, which has led to the development of novel drugs for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Her current research focuses on developing new treatments for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and their associated comorbidities.

The 14 members of the editorial advisory board for SKIN & ALLERGY NEWS give advice and feedback to the publication according to their distinctive areas of interest in dermatology.
