* ABB, a leading supplier of robotic systems, and Permanova, a leader in industrial lasers, have entered into a strategic alliance to create a new European Robot Laser Lab based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The new lab will combine the expertise and experience of the two companies to offer customers robotic and laser solutions in manufacturing.
The lab will be used to demonstrate state-of-the-art laser cutting and welding systems, undertake customer feasibility studies, and carry out application development. The lab also is able to supply standard robot and laser products, as well as function packages that include robot, laser, optics, controls, software, and complete safety protection.
