In memory of the late James Austin Turner, founder of National Welders Supply Company, and in collaboration with Central Piedmont Community College and the Foundation for the Carolinas, the Turner Foundation donated $1 million in 2000 to open the Jim Turner Center for Welding Technology, in Charlotte, NC. Maintaining Turner's legacy to advance welding education, the Center provides state-of-the-art welding equipment, processes, and on-site support services for students.
