The MCJ4700 Series Safety Light Curtain from Scientific Technologies Inc., Fremont, CA, was recently awarded two U.S. patents for its modular design. This is the first multiple segment safety light curtain that is connected via solid electromechanical joints. The design requires no cabling between segments, eliminating the risk of accidentally cutting or snagging cables.

The system can be configured for the precise protection needed. The compact transmitter and receiver allow it to be easily integrated into the design of small machines, and the electromechanical joints create a built-in appearance when installed.
