Between mainstream media hysteria and opportunistic lawyers, mold looked like a sure bet to become the "next asbestos" for the insurance industry.

To its credit, the insurance industry, as well as the vendors that service claims, responded strongly and astutely over the past few years with research and education. Subsequent scientific studies concluded that mold generally does not cause major health problems in normally healthy people. Research also confirmed that mold could be prevented and remediated properly if certain protocol were followed.
