Aug 30, 2006 (Food Australia - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Confectionery company, Cadbury Schweppes, will expand its chocolate factory at Claremont in Hobart. The $A24.5 million expansion will increase production by 10 per cent to nearly 50,000 tonnes a year. The number of people employed will rise from 800 to 850. New moulding, packing and wrapping equipment will begin operation in early 2007. The Tasmanian Government has provided a $A450,000 training grant to support the expansion. The expansion will meet increasing Australian demand and allow the production of new lines.
