Aug 30, 2006 (New Scientist - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Research is indicating that people can be addicted to more than just chemical substances. Addicts of gambling, gaming, work or other behaviours exhibit the same brain processes as those addicted to substances such as drugs. These include complete preoccupation with the subject, compulsive indulgence, a growing tolerance that requires more frequent and larger 'hits', and withdrawal symptoms.
