May 30, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The New South Wales (NSW) Premier, Morris Iemma, has taken a stand on nuclear power. On 30 May 2006, he rejected it as an energy option and praised the use of renewable energy sources. Iemma said that as long as he was the state premier, uranium mining and nuclear power would remain off limits in NSW.
