Apr 02, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- ABN Amro says Australian-listed APA Group could be a major beneficiary of the sale of energy group Alinta. Alinta holds a 35 per cent stake in APA, and Alinta shareholders will receive shares in APA as part of the $A7.4bn acquisition of Alinta by Babcock & Brown and Singapore Power. Nathan Lead of Wilson HTM says APA itself could attract interest if Alinta's stake is put up for sale, and notes that APA has a strong portfolio of energy infrastructure assets.
