Managers' views on maternity leave come under fire.
Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2001
Jul 22, 2001 (Sunday Times
ABIX via COMTEX) -- In July 2001, TMP Worldwide released the results of a survey of Australian managers' attitude to maternity leave. The recruitment consultant discovered that 42.6 per cent of company heads do not think that women should be permitted to assume the same responsibilities after taking maternity leave. Senator Amanda Vanstone, the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on the Status of Women, said the results show that attitudes still need to change. Australian women are currently allowed up to a year of unpaid maternity leave.
