MYOB off the Block - tax agent dumps software.

Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2001

Jul 26, 2001 (The Daily Telegraph

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian taxation company, H&R Block, replaced its MYOB taxation software with that of Elite Practice Solutions on 16 July 2001. Compatibility issues with some functions of the 2001 MYOB version have been marked as the main reasoning behind the change. MYOB has labelled the loss of contract as "disappointing". MYOB's chief executive, Craig Winkler, has been reported as saying that the financial repercussions of the loss will not be devastating, although MYOB shareholders had not, at the time, been made aware of the loss of contract. Other users of the MYOB software have also defected to rival products.
