Singapore rules out emasculated Ansett.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- On 29 July 2001, Singapore Airlines indicated it was not interested in Ansett without its parent, Air New Zealand. Singapore Airlines'

chief executive, Cheong Choong Kong, said even if its bid failed to raise its stake in Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines did not want a separation of Ansett and Air New Zealand. Singapore Airlines' bid to raise its stake in Air New Zealand from 25 to 49 is to be considered by the New Zealand cabinet on 30 July 2001.
